Itenas Bandung and NIT Jamshedpur India Sign MoA to Expand Education and Research Collaboration
Bandung, September 17, 2025 – Institut Teknologi Nasional (Itenas) Bandung has officially established a partnership with the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jamshedpur, India, through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) held at the Itenas Rectorate Building. This agreement marks a significant step in strengthening international networks in the fields of education, research, and community service.
The event was attended by the leadership of Itenas, including Rector Prof. Ir. Meilinda Nurbanasari, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., the Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, the Vice Rector for Resources and General Affairs, the Vice Rector for Planning, Innovation, and Cooperation, the Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Technology, and the Vice Dean of FTI. Also present were the Head of the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM), along with the Deputy Head of LPPM for Research, the Deputy Head of LPPM for Community Service, and the Head of the Bureau of Cooperation, Public Relations, and Promotion (BKHP) of Itenas. From NIT Jamshedpur India, a delegation of university leaders attended, including Prof. Satish Kumar, Ph.D., who came specifically to establish a strategic collaboration with Itenas.
The series of events began with an opening session, followed by the MoA signing procession between the two institutions, a discussion regarding potential cooperation, and concluded with a group photo session.
During the discussion, both parties explored collaboration opportunities including student exchange programs, joint research in technology and engineering, joint supervision for master's and doctoral programs, as well as the organization of international seminars and conferences. The delegation from NIT Jamshedpur also emphasized their readiness to welcome Itenas students and lecturers for both short-term and long-term exchange programs, and opened scholarship opportunities for master's and doctoral levels.
For information, the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jamshedpur is one of the 31 NITs in India with the status of Institute of National Importance. Established in 1960, the campus is known for its excellence in engineering, science, and management. NIT Jamshedpur has approximately 6,000 active students across various academic programs, ranging from undergraduate to doctoral levels, and maintains research collaborations with global industries. The campus is located in a strategic industrial area in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand state, India, which is also known as a center for technological and manufacturing development in India.
Through the signing of this MoA, Itenas and NIT Jamshedpur are committed to establishing a sustainable and productive partnership. This collaboration is expected not only to broaden the international perspectives of students and lecturers but also to increase tangible contributions to the development of science, technology, and innovative solutions for global challenges.
