VISIT OF PROF. THIES KRüGER FROM GERMANY TO ITENAS: IMPLEMENTATION OF INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION IN EDUCATION AND RESEARCH

Visit of Prof. Thies Krüger from Germany to Itenas: Implementation of International Cooperation in Education and Research
Bandung, July 21, 2025 – Institut Teknologi Nasional (Itenas) Bandung received an honorary visit from Prof. Thies Krüger from Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences, Germany, as a follow-up to the international cooperation established between the two institutions.
This visit was welcomed directly by the Rector of Itenas, Prof. Ir. Meilinda Nurbanasari, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., accompanied by faculty leadership, Heads of Study Programs, and the Itenas Cooperation Division. Also present was Dr. phil. Eka Noviana, M.A., a lecturer from the Itenas Visual Communication Design (DKV) Study Program, who played an important role in escorting and assisting Prof. Krüger throughout the visit.
The agenda of this visit focused on the implementation of concrete cooperation including student exchange programs, research collaboration, and international-based curriculum development, as a continuation of the previously signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
Prof. Krüger also reviewed several laboratories and flagship facilities within Itenas. The visit began at the iWILL Laboratory of the Informatics Study Program, accompanied by the Head of the Study Program, Dr. sc. Lisa Kristiana, S.T., M.T., along with lecturers and student laboratory assistants. Here, Prof. Krüger discussed research on technology and innovations based on collaborative learning.
Furthermore, Prof. Krüger visited the Electric Vehicle and Bio CNG Design Laboratory, together with Prof. Ir. Tarsisius Kristyadi, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., and the research team to see the development of electric vehicles as well as renewable energy research based on bio-compressed natural gas.
The series of visits concluded at the corn cob research workshop and the Product Design workshop, guided by Dr. Andry Masri, M.Sn., a lecturer in the Itenas Product Design Study Program who is a researcher in organic waste-based materials, and Maharani Dian Permanasari, S.Ds., M.Ds., M.Phil., Ph.D., Head of the Product Design Study Program. Prof. Krüger showed great interest in the sustainable design approach and the potential of alternative material research currently being developed.
This visit serves as an important step in strengthening international synergy and demonstrates Itenas' commitment to fostering cross-country collaboration for the advancement of higher education, innovation, and sustainability. (Public Relations)
