Building Creative Bridges: Itenas Bandung DKV and Ostfalia University Germany Initiate Global Collaboration

Bandung, February 4, 2026 – Institut Teknologi Nasional (Itenas) Bandung marked a significant step in strengthening its international network through a strategic visit from Prof. Berit Andronis from Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences, Germany. The meeting held today aimed to open doors for formal collaboration, specifically for the Itenas Visual Communication Design (DKV) Study Program.

The discussion began with an in-depth meeting with the leadership of the Faculty of Architecture and Design (FAD), attended by Rosa Karnita, S.Sn., M.Sn., Ph.D. (Dean), Sri Retnoningsih, S.Sn., M.Ds. (Vice Dean), as well as Aditya Januarsa, S.Ds., M.Ds. (Head of DKV Study Program) and Wuri Widyani Hapsari, S.Ds., M.Ds. (Secretary of DKV Study Program). Also present were Levita Dwinaya, S.S., M.Pd. (Head of the Bureau of Cooperation and International Affairs), along with the DKV faculty team, including Wiwi Isnaini, S.Sn., M.Ds., Dr. Phil. Eka Noviana, S.Sn., M.A., and Aldrian Agusta, S.Sn., M.Ds. During this session, Itenas DKV introduced its academic potential and creative ecosystem through an exhibition of student final projects and outstanding faculty research. The agenda then continued with a strategic discussion with Dani Rusirawan, S.T., M.T., Ph.D. (Vice Rector for Planning, Innovation & Cooperation) to discuss the long-term vision of the partnership between the two institutions.

One of the main points planned as a form of concrete cooperation is a student exchange program. This program is seen as a crucial means for students to gain authentic subject experience and enrich their cultural and design perspectives between Indonesia and Germany. Additionally, both parties explored opportunities for guest lecturers to provide direct global design insights to the students.

Furthermore, the discussion highlighted a strong desire to encourage direct collaboration between students from both institutions through joint projects. Given the creative and innovative nature of DKV students, this project collaboration is expected to serve as a platform for them to exchange ideas and create works that combine the unique characteristics of both countries.

A key agreement in this meeting was the commitment that the cooperation must not stop at administrative aspects, as the primary priority remains the continuity of tangible activities. Itenas and Ostfalia University are committed to maintaining and nurturing every planned program to ensure a long-term impact on the development of higher education in both countries.
