Itenas Held Send-off Event of Its Four IISMA 2023 Awardees to World Best Universities

Institut Teknologi Nasional (Itenas) Bandung held a send-off event for the Indonesia International Student Mobility Award (IISMA) 2023 awardee students on Tuesday (18/7/2023) in Gedung Rektorat Itenas. Three awardees attended the ceremony, while one of the awardees, Raden Muhammad Hikman Azka Antono (Product Design student) has already left for the destination country and university (Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand).
Prof. Meilinda Nurbanasari, Ph.D. (the Rector of Itenas) in her remarks left a mandate to three awardees to bound in honor of Indonesia and Itenas as an institute when they’re abroad. She also told the awardees to stay healthy although the pandemic status has been revoked.
“You must bound in honor of Itenas and even introduce the institute there. If Itenas’ name rises, so does Indonesia. One thing you should keep in mind is to be proud as Itenas students and as Indonesian,” she said.
The three awardees were also given time to deliver some speeches before leaving abroad. They expressed their deepest gratitude to the Itenas lecturers and staff who had helped them a lot, starting from the registration process to becoming IISMA awardees.
“We (through the IISMA program) want to be able to make you proud as representatives of Indonesia abroad,” said Rafli Faturrachman (Industrial Engineering student) who will leave for the University of Zagreb, Croatia.
“I hope from this program, we can be a brand-new motivation to Itenas fellow students to dare to try (to participate in IISMA or scholarships abroad),” said Ibnu Hasan (Civil Engineering student) who will leave for National Taiwan University, Taiwan.
“Hopefully we as awardees can inspire other Itenas students so that next year there will be even more IISMA awardees from Itenas,” said Sanny Aftaluna Ziemann (Visual Communication Design student) who will leave for Vytautas Magnus University, Lithuania.
The event continued with souvenirs (varsity jacket and angklung miniature) handover from Itenas to three awardees. Started from Mr. Jono Suhartono, S.T., M.T., Ph.D. (Dean of FTI) to Rafli, followed by Dr. Soni Darmawan, S.T., M.T. (Dean of FTSP) and Mr. Kamaludin, Ir., M.T., M.Kom. (Head of Civil Engineering Major) to Ibnu, and the last by Mr. Aldrian Agusta, S.Sn., M.Ds. (Head of Visual Communication Design Major) to Sanny.
