Community development activities at Itenas are coordinated by Research and Community Development Office (LP2M). Since it was established, Itenas has been actively empowering communities in Indonesia through a variety of activities, such as ‘Desa Binaan’ programs that have a direct impact on the community through the program (village community empowerment). This program is intended to assist communities in solving their problems through a multi-sectoral approach.

Itenas initiates and implements community empowerment programs based on appropriate technologies, as the results of research on science, technology, art, and culture undertaken by its faculty members and students.
