Research and Community Service Office (LPPM Itenas) released the Strategic Research Plan 2020-2025 which streamlined research focus on 9 thematic themes:

1. Sustainable Built Environment (SBE)
2. Geodatabase, Spatial Analysis, and Earth Observations (GSAEO)
3. New-renewable Energy System (NRES)
4. Tourism Infrastructure: Creative Industry (CI)
5. Electric Vehicle (EV)
6. Artificial Intelligent and Mechatronics (AIM)
7. Nanotechnology (NT)
8. Sustainable Corporate and Manufacturing System (SCMS)
9. Socio-humanities (SH).

The all-research themes will converge in 3 (three) institute’s flagship research topics:

1. Electric vehicle
2. Tourism infrastructure
3. Smart/intelligent product.

The results of the research have been currently used for the development of science and technology, policies recommendation, and the enrichment of learning materials (research-based teaching) in order to maintain research quality standards.
