Gold Winner Achievement in Itenas’ Golden Age from the Anugerah Diktiristek 2022

In this mid-December, Institut Teknologi Nasional Bandung just received a worthwhile achievement in its golden age as Gold Winner in the Anugerah Diktiristek 2022 category The Best International Cooperation of Private College. This is the most exquisite gift for a college that turns 50 years of its establishment.

Anugerah Diktiristek 2022 (the 2022 Diktiristek Awards) was held on Tuesday (15/12/2022) in The Sultan Hotel Residence, Central Jakarta. The Rector of Itenas, Prof. Meilinda Nurbanasari, S.T., M.T., Ph.D. came as Itenas’ representative to receive the award. Those criteria as an awardee of the category The Best International Cooperation of Private College include: (a) Support from Leaders (organization, funding, human resources), (b) Quality of planning and cooperation activities in January-June 2022, (c) Quality of Cooperation Achievements 2021-2022 (outputs and impacts), (d) Quality of International Cooperation SOPs, and (e) Quality of International Cooperation Document Reports.

This annual nationwide event is usually held by the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Ditjen Diktiristek Kemendikbudristek). This is also the most anticipated event by many colleges, partners, and media in Indonesia which support all programs in Ditjen Diktiristek Kemendikbudristek.

The head of Itenas International Office, Dr. Eng. Dyah Asri Handayani Taroepratjeka, S.T., M.T., said she was grateful for this achievement. “We’re so thankful for the achievement as a Gold Winner in the category The Best International Cooperation of Private College. We, in Itenas International Office, are looking forward to escalating our work in the future,” she said. This achievement is not only a pride for Itenas International Office itself but also for Itenas as a whole academic community. This award is a result of a collaboration between the board of leaders and the entire academic community of Itenas. Hopefully, Itenas will gather more achievements in the following years.

Speaking about Itenas’ golden age, making Itenas a great private college was not an easy journey. There were challenges and obstacles during the process. In the celebration of Itenas’ 50^th anniversary (14/12/2022), the President of Dayang Sumbi Educational Foundation, Prof. Dr. Iwan Inrawan Wiratmadja expressed things that have made Itenas as great as today.

“When Dayang Sumbi Educational Foundation founded Atenas in 1972, later known as Itenas, the owned resource was still insufficient. Despite that, all the founders worked hard and fully dedicated themselves to establishing a good quality college. With a spirit of social concern and dedication, they made efforts in management to make education in Itenas accessible to all,” he said.

“The organizational culture built by the founder has succeeded in developing Itenas in various aspects, including educational programs, human resources, the campus land, and lecture buildings as well as various educational facilities and infrastructure. This success cannot be separated from the good cooperation between the foundation and the board of Itenas’ leaders since Itenas was founded until now,” he added regarding the factors in the development of Itenas into what it is today.

Prof. Meilinda expressed her gratitude towards all parties who have contributed to the development of Itenas. She also highlighted Itenas’ remarkable achievements in academics (accreditations and rankings) and community services, and she hoped for Itenas to reach the top 10 best Indonesian private colleges in 2025 and the title of a world-class university.

“I express my highest gratitude and appreciation to the management of the Dayang Sumbi Educational Foundation, former Chancellors and Officials, lecturers, students and non-trainees, students, student parent associations, alumni associations, agencies and companies as well as various parties who has contributed to developing Itenas to become what it is today. The spirit of togetherness from various parties has become the main driver of Itenas’ positive contribution to continue to develop and compete,” said Prof. Melinda in her speech.

Perayaan Dies Natalis Itenas ke-50 dirayakan secara luring setelah dua tahun terhenti akibat pandemi yang sempat melonjak. Rangkaian acara dimulai dari Agustus 2022 dengan Itenas Fun Run, Itenas Cabaret Festival, Itenas Band Festival, Bazaar Itenas, dan Pameran Marathon Comics “Luminaire”. Rangkaian berlanjut pada Oktober hingga Desember 2022 dengan Itenas National e-Sport Competition, Itenas National Robotic Competition, dan Mojang Jajaka Itenas. Puncaknya dirayakan dalam seremoni Sidang Terbuka Senat dan Pimpinan Itenas pada Rabu (14/22) dan Itenas Awards 2022: Celebrate the Excellence sekaligus peluncuran buku 50 Tahun Itenas: For a Brighter Future pada Kamis (15/12).

The celebration of the Itenas’ 50^th Anniversary was celebrated offline after two years of being stopped due to the pandemic. The series of events starts from August 2022 with the Itenas Fun Run, Itenas Cabaret Festival, Itenas Band Festival, Itenas Bazaar, and the “Luminaire” Marathon Comics Exhibition. The event continues from October to December 2022 with the Itenas National e-Sport Competition, Itenas National Robotic Competition, and Mojang Jajaka Itenas. The main event was celebrated at the Open Session of the Itenas’ Senate and Leader Board on Wednesday (14/22/2022) and the Itenas Awards 2022: Celebrate the Excellence as well as the launch of the book 50 Years of Itenas: For a Brighter Future on Thursday (15/12/2022).
