National Seminar of Itenas Community Service Program 2023: Focusing on Strengthening Socio-Economic Resilience Post-COVID-19 Pandemic Through Community Service
On Wednesday, November 15, 2023, Institut Teknologi Nasional (Itenas) Bandung held the National Seminar on Community Service 2023, focusing on the theme “Building Socio-Economic Resilience of Communities Post the Covid-19 Pandemic through Community Service Activities.” The seminar was opened by Mr. Tarsisius Kristyadi, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs at Itenas.
The seminar featured speakers such as Dr. H. Dony Achmad Munir, S.T., M.M. (Regent of Sumedang for the 2018-2023 period), who discussed the government’s policies, especially in Sumedang, to enhance the economic resilience of micro, small, and medium enterprises post the Covid-19 pandemic. Mrs. Hj. Siti Muntamah, S.A.P. (Chairperson of the West Java Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) Commission V for the 2019-2024 period) shared her experiences and perspectives on the role of women in empowering communities to improve socio-economic resilience post the Covid-19 pandemic. Additionally, Dr. Ir. Yuli Setyo Indartono (Chairman of the Research and Community Service Institution at ITB) addressed the topic of university innovation in community empowerment to enhance socio-economic resilience post the Covid-19 pandemic.
The seminar not only presented insights from keynote speakers but also included parallel sessions for dozens of academics from various universities in Indonesia. The event, held in Itenas Smart Classroom, provided a platform for academics to present the results of their research in their respective fields of expertise.
The seminar aimed to be a space for exchanging ideas and showcasing the results of community service, fostering collaboration in community service activities across study programs and/or institutions. This includes expanding opportunities for potential orchestration of social capital, involving collaborative efforts between universities and government-industry stakeholders.
